Mixed Media Junk MDF Tissue box using Acrylic Paints and Perfect Pearls

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Today I am back with another MDF Junk Tissue box holder…
For my Box, I first primer the whole box using white Gesso. Then I did some stenciling using 'art basics 3D matte gel transparent'. I used stencil 'Bubbles' and 'Art is'. I guess you know by now that 'Art is' is favorite stencil :)
Once completely dry, I glued my embellishments-Junk old jewelry pieces, laces, buttons, rings etc on the box using the same gel medium. Prepared all my embellishments using white Gesso. Once dry I painted the whole box including embellishments using FolkArt 2241E Apple Orchard acrylic paint.
Spray Lindy's starbust 'Mad Water Mint' spray all over the box. To give the project some vintage look, I did some shading using Hero Arts Brown color liquid dauber. To give more color variation, I spray 227E bright green acrylic paint Using an old tooth brush and lots of water. I hope you can see the small dark green dots all over the box!
To get the metallic shine, I first sprayed good amount of water on the box through my mini mister and through perfect pearls brush, I rubbed Turquoise perfect pearl generously. This process helped me to fix the perfect pearl on to box without coming off and a very good color contrast of green and blue.

I glued the lace on top of the box. Colored Prima flowers using same Lindy's mint color spray and glued them on top for some extra interest.
Lastly using Sunflower Sparkle Perfect pearl I did high lighting on the embellishments. Finally a coat of ranger's matte finish medium to seal the project. whoa!!! all done !!
I am simply in love with these projects. Thanks for stopping by.

Mixed Media Junk Vintage Tissue Box

Are you ready for a totally different type of project today? Let’s create a mixed media junk tissue box!
I am totally in love with mixed media. The art of changing any object into a totally different form! Love Love Love !! :)
First, primer the whole box using 'white Gesso'. Then give texture to the box using 'Finnabair 3D matte gel transparent' over 'Mini Time travel' and 'mini art is' stencil . Then I took good amount of time in arranging my broken jewelry pieces, lace, ribbons on the box. Once you are satisfied with the positioning of the embellishments glue them using gel medium.
Once dry, again apply a thin coat of gesso on all the embellishments and embossing. Using 'Folkart Calypso sky matte finish acrylic paint'  paint a thin coat on the whole box. Spray Lindy's stardust Mad Matter mint over and under the embellishments. Move the box slightly so that the paint can move in the intricate designs of the box. You can use your fingers to rub the paint. Use heat gun to dry the paint. To give some more colour interest I used 'medium grey' acrylic paint through my broad silicon brush and painted here and there.
Once every thing is dry, its time to highlight the embellishments. Since I don't have waxes as of now, I wanted to try my old friend Perfect Pearls for this purpose. I took some water and Turquoise perfect pearl on my palette and covered the whole box. This gave my box a metallic finish. Then I took some water and Sunflower perfect pearl on my palm, and gently rub this mixture on all the embellishments. This will gave a good dimension to your project. I rubbed Blush perfect pearl also over the script embossing.
Use Vintage Distress collage medium to give the project a worn / old look. Lastly Glue a thin lace over the top opening to give a neat look.

Thanks !

Perfect pearls and colored wood veneers

Hi Friends,

Today I am going to share with you a Get well soon card I created for a relative.

Here is a small tutorial of the above card.
To make this card, I took a white thick card stock with dimension 5 by 7 inches.
Through seedless preserve distress ink I coloured the boundary of the front card approximately 1.5 inches.
Then I took another white card stock slightly smaller than the card base. I stamped it with background stamp using versamark ink. I then brushed perfect pearls on the design and to kind of fix it, I air brushed some water from mini mister.
I then rounded off the corners 1/4 inches.
I used wood veneers extensively to decorate the front of the card, these were lying in my box for a long time.
I colored the butterflies using my sketch pens. Then heat embossed these with clear embossing powder to fix the color as well give some shine.
To give some further shine and dimension to the butterflies and the get well soon wood veneers, I used glossy accents and then added glitter using stella marker pen.

Instead of using foam tabs, I used white craft foam to stick the front of the card to the card base.
With lawn fawn's on the mend stamp set, I stamped sentiments inside the card.
I used Orange color envelope to post the card as I didnt had any other.
To decorate the envelope, I used the flower vase and feel better sentiment from the same stamp set and used momento Orange color ink to give a tone on tone look !

Hope u liked my card. Thanks for stopping by!

I am submitting this card for the challenge:

water color using perfect pearls

Hi friends,
Hope you all are doing good! I am posting after a long time. I got blessed with a baby boy on 8th dec 2014, so was busy with him.
Today I got some time so I'm sharing with you a project a did couple of months back for a relative.
I made 45 invites for their House Warming Ceremony. Here are few pics and a short tutorial of the same.

To make these cards, plain white card stock with dimension 4 by 5.5 inches. Back ground stamp is Floral Doorway & Latch PreCut Set from Heartfelt Creations. The whole image is Then heat embossed using gold embossing powder.
Next step was to color the flower, branches and leaves. I used distress inks for water colouring.
Seedless preserves, peeled paint, peacock feathers and spiced marmalade.
I added perfect pearls in my mini mister and added that water in distress inks. Colours I used are berry twist, turquoise, blush respectively.

On envelopes I stamped two birds in a cage stamp from summer breeze collection by kaiser craft which was totally going with the mood of the card.

I made 45 of these cards for her and courier her in the packs of 9 or 10!

Hope you like my design. Thanks for stopping by.
